We arrived in Miami the day before our cruise and spent the afternoon in South Beach.  As I remembered from my previous visit, there was a young man working on an enormous sand castle, complete with with working torches.

Here is the beach at sunset.

We had dinner at the National Hotel in the famous Cafe Mosaic.

In the morning we headed to Dodge Island to board our ship.  Here is the Norway, outgoing flagship of the Norwegian Cruise Line.

The excitement grew as we neared our ship, the Norwegian Wind.  The Norway is in the background.

Here goes the Norway down Government Cut.  She was built as the S/S France for Compagnie Generale Transatlantique.  Having sailed for Norwegian for 20 years, she was supposed to be retired to Asia this year as a floating casino, but she got a reprieve and is now going to be around until April of 2003.  Several different groups are trying to rescue her before then... read about it on www.ss-norway.com.
