Sunday

People/House Sunset I Sunset II Sunday Thursday Friday

On Sunday we attended Mass at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church on neighbouring Sanibel Island.  The church, which dates from 1970, is architecturally very interesting, as the interior is lined with a tracery of huge wooden beams which makes it resemble the inside of an overturned wooden sailing ship.  I wish I had taken pictures of it because I can't find any one the web.  They had a fairly large choir and a good organ.  The sermon was given by the Rev. Canon Michael Seward, who is visiting the area from St. Paul's Cathedral in London.  He spoke about the symbolism of trumpets throughout the scriptures, particularly relating it to the advent season.

After church, John, Linda and I went for a walk around the area surrounding our house.  Here are some examples of the architecture and plant life on the island.
